The Palais de la Bourse (Stock Exchange Palace) in Lyon, France was erected in 1862 at the epicenter of the silk trade from which the city thrived. Today it is still one of the most remarkable landmarks of the city.
Client: Multinational Investment Management Company
Requirement: For an end to end new system implementation integrating with the firms internal capital model, O3 was engaged to firstly, define a complete set of business and technical requirements from a front office through a back office perspective in support of a vendor specific COTS implementation. Secondly, the firm was tasked with leading the implementation from an “STP” front to back office operations perspective based on the leveraging to as great a degree as possible the off the shelf functionality of the trading system tied in to upstream / downstream, accounting and proprietary systems.
Rationale: Introduction of a new business line for the firm, with critical integration with the firms’ proprietary Capital Model leveraging commercially available software from a leading trading platform vendor.
Our Contribution: Managed the end to end implementation, including integration with the firms’ core Capital Model, coordinating resources from client, software vendor, and O3 into a cohesive team focused on a high quality, production ready trading platform.
Approach: The project was split into multiple phases; detailed business and technical requirements analysis phase including integration and gapping, followed by a full lifecycle software implementation phase, knowledge transfer and then cut over to production and post production support.
Results: Successfully delivered a fully configured and complete end to end environment based on the functional requirements of the client. The ability to monitor and review capital adequacy requirements was fundament to the success of the project.
