Client: Global Investment Bank

Requirement: Assist with requirements gathering, vetting and framing a Global Counterparty Credit Reporting infrastructure including the meta-data components and delivery methods. Document the detailed credit reporting requirements for the technology build team in line with the firm’s evolution plans.

Rationale: The bank provides Global Counterparty Credit analysis and monitoring and identified that their credit reporting infrastructure needed to be expanded and enhanced to support the business growth, multiple geographical locations and evolving regulatory requirements. They required an assessment of their entire credit monitoring approach with an eye towards enhancement and increased functionality.

Our Contribution: Senior Experienced Market and Credit Risk practitioners provided an unbiased and deep knowledge in the domain and defined a detailed data structure based on industry best practice.

Approach: The process included understanding and documenting the current reporting processes, data sources, business logic, transformation rules, automated and manual processes that produced the current daily counterparty credit report suite. A meta-data dictionary was defined and organized into a representative normalized extraction that would support the evolution of current and future credit reports.

Results: The global credit reporting requirements were presented to the senior management and delivered to the global data team to frame and produce the extraction layer for the Credit Reports.
